I began quilting about 15 years ago. I did not own a sewing machine and was
not at all sure this was something I could do. An instructor insisted that I
could and even had me use her sewing machine to begin. Because of the solid
foundation she gave me, I want to share that experience with others. That is
why my favorite classes to teach are the beginning quilting classes.
I enjoy teaching technique classes because the students can take that
information and use it over and over in their future quilts. I hope to inspire
and motivate the students, because that is what they do for me.
My basic philosophy is that quilting is NOT a quick and easy hobby. But
there are ways to make quilting QUICKER and EASIER. It is a creative outlet.
There is a reason why patterns and colors are chosen for a particular quilt.
There is always a story.
I have been married to Joe Ziegler for 20 years. Joe is an avid woodworker
and we are partners in Wood Creations & Other Material Things. Joe makes
quilt display racks and specialty quilting tools. Our "hobbies" complement
each other!
